Powerful Prayer Meetings
Our Prayer Meeting is a time for us to stand before God on behalf of our nation, our leaders, our church family and our community. We come with assigned prayers. It is a key foundation for Excel Church, along with worship, sound doctrine, communion, fellowship, and the Baptism’s.
The early church met regularly to pray. It is the fellowship of the believers.
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19 NIV)
When we pray with other believers and agree with what the Bible says concerning our leaders and families, we believe heaven hears our cry and answers our prayers.
Spirit Led Prayer
As a church, we know how to pray but we do not always know what to pray.
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” (Romans 8:26-27. ESV)
The same Holy Spirit who dwells within each believer causes our hearts to come before God for His direction and His perfect will. Many are struggling and may feel alone with life’s burdens. Hearing others lift them up to the throne of grace brings comfort and encouragement.
It also builds in us a love and concern for others as we intercede for them. Spirit Led Prayer is a time where we wait on the Lord. It is also a time of spontaneous worship. He gives us songs in the natural and songs in the Spirit.
“What am I to do? I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also; I will sing praise with my spirit, but I will sing with my mind also.” (1 Corinthians 14:15. ESV)
