What is the Dream Team?

The Dream Team is a group of incredible people that have discovered their gifts and passions and are actively serving in them. From creating a comfortable environment by serving as one of our greeters, to leading the next generation to Jesus in Children’s Ministry, to crafting a dynamic experience with the First Impressions Team, to tearing down barriers across our city by leading a Small Group —we are a group that forcefully advances the Kingdom of God.

Dream Team Job Descriptions

ExcelKidz (Check-In, Nursery, Teachers)
Connect preschoolers and families with Jesus by building spiritual foundations in the life of a child. Facilitate a safe and loving environment where our youngest attenders can experience God’s love, discover Bible truths, and learn about God through fun, age-appropriate activities. Criminal background checks required.

  • Time Commitment: 180 minutes each week (Sunday 10am – 1pm)
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Encouragement, Service

ExcelKidz (Kindergarten – 5th Grade)
Connect kids and families with Jesus by building spiritual foundations in the life of a child. Help facilitate meaningful, energetic, age-appropriate worship experiences and Bible learning. Build relationships with kids that reach them where they are, teach them God’s Word, and prepare them to live for Christ in their daily lives. Criminal background checks required.

  • Time Commitment: 180 minutes each week (Sunday 10am – 1pm)
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts: Teaching, Encouragement, Service

Set-Up and Tear-Down
Meeting in a temporary location will require that we set up and tear down each week. If you are someone who enjoys helping to make events a success and to do the behind the scenes work that is so important, then this team could be an awesome way to use your talents.

  • Time Commitment: 2 hours on Sunday, Possible Spiritual Gifts: Leadership, Service

Greeters & Guest Services (First Impressions)
The goal of the first impression team is to acknowledge every person in a welcoming way that serves as one of the many touch points they will experience while they are at Excel.  Members of the first impression team staff all entrances prior to each of the service times on a Sunday morning. We staff all entrances to our Next Step classes and help welcome every person. The goal of the first impression team is to acknowledge every person in a welcoming way. We provide information about events, small groups and answer questions about their next steps. This serves as one of the many touch points they will experience while they are at Excel.

  • Time Commitment: 75 minutes each week before and after service

Parking Lot Team (First Impressions)
The Parking Team isn’t about just directing cars to parking spaces. They are a fired up group that goes over-the-top to demonstrate helpfulness and to make parking a stress free experience for all those coming to Excel.

  • Time Commitment: Must arrive at 8:30am and 10:30am on Sunday
  • Great environment for youth

Ushers (First Impressions)
Creating a worship experience that is free from distraction is an essential element of every service. Ushers strive to ensure that everyone is welcomed as they enter into the auditorium by helping people find a seat and facilitating special parts of our worship experience. All of this is done in a manner that minimizes stress, distractions and anxiety so that people can open their hearts to worship God.

  • Time Commitment: 60 minutes prior to each service
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts: Hospitality, Service

Excel Cafe (First Impressions)
Our hospitality team serves a major role as they prepare the church for everyone to come and experience Christ each weekend. From preparing coffee and hosting our guests area with snacks and drinks to maintaining a tidy and clean snack area. This is an extremely important part of our vision of Excel. This team is vital to hosting everyone with warmth and creating an atmosphere of comfort.

  • Time Commitment: 60 minutes prior to first service
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts:  Hospitality, Service

Events Team (First Impressions)
God has blessed each and every one of us in different ways with different skills and gifts. This team is one of the new teams being formed at Excel as we are continuing to grow we want to always create an experience for the new person and those who regally attend. This team will come to gather with events such as Christmas Easter Baptism, 21 Days of Prayer to activities we are doing throughout the year like snow cones in the summer.

Production Team
During our Sunday services we use many different aspects of media to create an inviting experience. Our Production Team includes set-up/tear-down of stage equipment, set design, lighting, audio, video and camera operation during Sunday experiences. If you have any interest in helping out in this area, we would love to have you join us. No previous experience is necessary.

  • Time Commitment: 2 hours before first service, 1.5 hours after each service
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts:  Leadership, Service

Creative Team
Our Creative Team works with our film, graphics, motion graphics, digital, writing, photography, and print teams. Our main goal is to help creatively support our Sunday experiences and different ministries at Excel.  We currently are focusing on print design, web design, testimonies, photography, promo videos for the website and social media. There are opportunities available for a variety of skill levels.

Worship Team
The Worship Team exists to lead others in worship and honor God through a music offering on a weekly or a rotated basis.  Team members are required to be fully prepared musically and spiritually to lead worship each week.  The Worship Team includes both vocalists (3-4 each week) and instrumentalists (1 on drums, 1 on percussion, 1 pianist, 1 on keyboard, 1 on electric guitar, 1 on acoustic guitar, 1 on bass guitar).

  • Time Commitment:  1.5 hour a week in rehearsal and self-preparation at home.  2 hours before each service.
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts: Leadership, Teaching (Humility and Musical ability are also important)

Administration Team
God has blessed each and every one of us in different ways with different skills and gifts. This team is gifted in organizing, sorting, data processing, making phone calls or any other administrative type activities. They draw excitement and energy from these things. This is an awesome way to support Excel from behind the scenes.

Prayer Force Team (Preserves Prayer, Prayer at the Alter and Corporate Prayer)
Our Prayer Team is a setting for individuals to bring prayer concerns to intercessors following Sunday morning services.

Qualifications

  • Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Believe that God is and that He is a reward of those who diligently seek Him
  • Be able to handle prayer requests in a confidential manner – not given to gossip
  • Be comfortable in leading audible prayer in a one-on-one or small group setting

Outreach Team
Reaching our community, state, nation and world with Jesus Christ.  The community outreach team will lead the way in engaging the community and the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.  Since outreach is such an important part of our vision and a strategic stepping stone in the journey to maturity, we would like to have you be part of this amazing team and to help express the love of Christ.

  • Outreach Leadership Team: The people on this team help in the planning and facilitating of the outreach calendar and overall outreach department.
  • Outreach Captain: This person oversees a specific outreach, helps coordinate and facilitate the big picture of the event with the team.  They also stay informed about all-church outreaches and communicates outreach opportunities, dates and helps mobilize team participation.
  • Time Commitment: Varies
  • Possible Spiritual Gifts:  Evangelism, Service

First Responder Team
The purpose of the team is to have someone available to respond to any potential medical emergency and to provide care to anyone who might get sick or injured while at Excel. We want to be as inclusive as possible but understand that due to the nature of the mission we need to hold these standards. On “duty” responders will respond with a partner and Usher to evaluate, treat any injuries or illnesses and assess if further treatment is needed. We will assure that EMS is notified for transport to the hospital.
Note: Due to the nature of the team, some level of medical training is required.
