We love seeing children enjoy coming to church and loving God! Everything we do in our children’s ministry is focused on bringing children to a real and active relationship with God at an early age. Activities, lessons and curriculum are carefully selected and thoroughly planned to ensure that God’s truth is communicated to your child in a way that is relevant to whichever stage of life they are in. We have children’s ministry up to grade five.

ExcelKidz is SOCIAL!  You can find us on Twitter and Facebook.  By following us you will be able to keep up with latest news and events pertaining to ExcelKidz.  We will also post ideas on how to expand on the weekly lessons at home.  You will also find inspirational stories from other parents through OrangeParents.org.  Keep up with us to learn about other great resources available to you and your children.

Please Note: Children’s check-in table is open 30 minutes prior to each service starting. We encourage any parents wishing to check their child(ren) into our ExcelKidz Ministry to arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to service starting. We will be closing the check in table 20 minutes after both services have started and for the safety of all of the children in our classrooms, no children will be admitted after the check-in table is closed. Please take a moment and print the ExcelKidz Registration Form if your child(ren) are new to ExcelKidz or you are bringing a new child with you. You may fill it out in advance to expedite the check in process.

Little Sprouts Nursery

0-Age 2

Children are lovingly cared for in a developmentally appropriate environment. The babies experience God through songs, play and love and attention from dedicated teachers. We introduce Orange’s “First Look” curriculum through song.

Club House

Age 2, Ages 3-5

The club house is broken into two groups – 2 year olds and Preschoolers (3-5). We worship together and participate in the large group lesson as one. However, when it comes time for object lessons and relationship building the children will be broken into small, age appropriate groups. Small Group time is where they will participate in games, crafts, and team building exercises. Both groups will be introduced to a more structured learning framework through Orange’s “First Look” curriculum.

The Curriculum – First Look

First look is a web-based curriculum that uses engaging activities to introduce pre-school children (age’s birth to 5) to God. First Look gives children a first impression of their heavenly Father and the wonder of His love for each one of them.

By the time your child is 5 years old we want to make sure that they know three basic truths:

  1. God made me
  2. God loves me
  3. Jesus wants to be my friend forever

Adventure Kidz

Grades K-3

School-aged children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade will be involved in inspirational praise and worship, an interactive Bible story, games and activities. This is a great place for children to learn about Jesus and develop healthy friendships in a fun and safe environment. Our curriculum is Orange’s 252. We continue to focus on small groups in Adventure Kidz and align all students to appropriate small group leaders.

The Zone

Grades 4-6

Our “Big Kids” in 4th – 6th grade continue with the 252 curriculum at a higher level. We continue with the Orange 252 curriculum and involve the children in inspirational praise and worship; an interactive Bible story that is either acted out or taught through videos. The games and activities are geared towards the older kids and are designed and personalized for the small group atmosphere.

The Curriculum – 252

Elementary-age kids are in a constant state of discovery. Think about all the different things they are trying for the first time and what they’re learning every day, even how to make (and keep) friends.

How can we tap into the way kids are naturally wired to discover‚ so they can begin to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them and how much He loves them?

How can we show them God’s big story and help them discover the active part they can play in this life-long adventure, to be more like Him?

252 BASICS curriculum and resources PROVOKE DISCOVERY, inviting kids to live out their new understanding of how to grow in relationship with God and with others.

By the time your child is 10 years old we want to make sure that they know three basic truths:

  1. I need to make the wise choice (wisdom)
  2. I can trust God no matter what (faith)
  3. I should treat others the way I want to be treated (friendship)

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s my first time at ExcelChurch. What do I do?

As soon as you walk through the doors, there will be people and signage to point you in the right direction. There is a check in station for all age groups where you will register your children or you can pre-register by clicking here. After your child is registered, you will be welcome to take a tour of ExcelKidz to ensure your comfort.

What are your procedures for keeping the children safe and accounted for?

Safety and security are fundamental to our ExcelKidz experience. At ExcelChurch, we use safe systems and procedures to ensure that each child is checked in and accounted for at all times while participating in ExcelKidz. Children are not released without the presentation of a security tag.  At check-in, each parent is provided with a security tag which corresponds to the name tag your child will wear during service.  If it is necessary to reach the parents during service the number found on your security tag will flashed on the screen in the main service.

What exactly happens in ExcelKidz?

Every child will experience specially selected music, teaching (both live and or on a big screen) and small group activities, accompanied by several fun games and activities.

Who are we?

ExcelKidz is a ministry within the ministry of ExcelChurch.  Dan & Alicia Malboeuf co-direct ExcelKidz.  They are responsible for planning, coordination and evaluation of the children and preschoolers program including management of curriculum, lesson activities, crafts, and age appropriate games for free time.  They work directly with the lead pastor and his wife regarding the direction and vision of ExcelKidz ministry.  Spiritual growth of the children and preschoolers is our primary concern.
The volunteers within ExcelKidz are made up from a collection of both staff and DreamTeam members at ExcelChurch.  All of them have been individually selected and properly trained, and have gone through a criminal background check. Each worker has a clear understanding of the large privilege and responsibility of teaching your children.

What should I do after ExcelKidz?

When you check your child out of ExcelKidz or on your way home, we encourage you to ask your child about what they learned and help them figure out how to apply it during the upcoming week.  Check out our Facebook page “excelkidzma” or follow us on twitter to stay up to date on the weekly lessons.  You can also find great information on our Facebook page about free resources available to parents.  Parent Cues, blogs, and even mobile apps are all resources available to every ExcelKidz parent.  There are some great activity suggestions and talking points to help expand on what your child learned in class.

What else do I need to know about ExcelKidz?

Arrive at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the experience so that you can enjoy the entire experience. Please label your child’s belongings before you arrive (bags, bottles, pacifiers).
If an ExcelKidz DreamTeam Member needs to contact you during the service, you will be notified during the worship experience.
To ensure the health of children and DreamTeam Members, we ask that sick children not attend ExcelKidz.
Safety and security is of utmost importance to us. You must have the security tag with you to pick up your children after the service.
